Dear Dallas Branch Members:

It looks like we are in the middle of another holiday season.  I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  I know I enjoyed unwinding from work for a few days and eating all of the delicious, home-cooked, family favorites.

Dallas Branch Leadership is hard at work putting the finishing touches on the 2019 MRLC that takes place in Dallas on February 7-9, 2019.  Please visit our website at https://dallasasce.org/mrlc2019.  There will be numerous ways to connect with ASCE leaders from branches, sections, and student chapters from across the Midwest coming from Regions 3, 6, and 7.  We are looking for sponsors and for firms that are interested in hosting a booth a career fair with the opportunity to interact with some of the nearly 400 student leaders from their respective student sections.  Please contact Farwa Sultan at [email protected] for information on sponsorship and career fair booths.

Also, in February is the TSPE E-week Awards Luncheon.  Please consider hosting a table or purchasing individual tickets to attend this event where the ASCE Dallas Branch will award its 2018 Engineer and Young Engineer of the Year along with many of the other engineering societies within the Dallas area.  For more information about the E-week Award Luncheon, please visit http://www.dallastspe.com/engineers-week.html

This month, our meeting will be on Monday, December 10th.  We will have the pleasure of hearing from Ms. Dawn Blair.  She will be giving us an update on “Development and Opportunities at Dallas Love Field and Dallas Executive Airport.”  Please be aware that this month we will not have technical sessions before or after our luncheon.  But, be sure to plan to stick around for our dessert reception immediately following the main presentation.  We will have dessert, coffee, and water set up in the entry area of Vouv to allow for additional networking opportunities with your fellow engineers.

I will close out the message with a Happy Hanukah, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and wishing you a wonderful remainder of the holiday season and Happy New Year!
