ASCE Dallas Branch Elections 2018-2019

2017-2018 OFFICER & COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS

Officer Nomination Deadline: Thursday August 9, 2018

The Nominations Committee of the ASCE Dallas Branch will convene in August to consider candidates for Officers of the ASCE Dallas Branch, to serve 2018-2019. Officer positions of the ASCE Dallas Branch to be elected this year include the following:

• President (Succession from President-Elect)
• President-Elect (Succession from Vice President)
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Technical Director
• Branch Director (Associate member only, age 35 or less)
• Past President (Succession from President)

In addition, there are a number of standing committees and technical institutes*/groups for which chair and co-chair positions will be available. The chairs are appointed by the incoming 2018-2019 President:

• Communications Committee
  • Newsletter Editor
  • Webmaster
  • Social Media
• Education and Outreach Committee
  • Civil Engineering Club lead
  • DISD STEM partnership lead(s)
  • Girl Scouts partnership lead
• History and Heritage Committee
• Membership Committee
• Program Committee
• Public Relations and Outreach Committee
• Scholarship Committee
• Fundraising Committee
• Golf Tournament Committee (odd years)
• Hospitality Committee
• Future City Committee
• Past Presidents Committee
• Assistant Treasurer
• Student Chapter Advisor – UTA
• Student Chapter Advisor - SMU
• Structural Technical Institute
• Geotechnical Technical Institute
• Construction Technical Institute
• Transportation & Development Technical Institute
• Environmental & Water Resources Technical Institute
• Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Technical Group

*Technical Institutes are established with the own Bylaws. The Board of each Institute elects their own President to serve as the Chair representative to the Dallas Branch Board of Directors. EWB and Sustainability are not institutes and will have chairs appointed by the Dallas Branch President.

The term of office for each position will run one year from the installation of Officers during the Branch meeting in October 2018 to the October 2019 Branch meeting.

Don’t wait to be asked – Volunteer! The Nominations Committee requests that ASCE members who are interested in officer position or committee assignments complete this Nomination Form for consideration. Nomination Forms for Officers shall be completed and emailed by Thursday August 9, 2018. Nomination Forms for Committee and Institute positions shall be completed and emailed by Friday August 31, 2018.
