Earth Day Dallas

Earth Day Dallas (April 20-21 10am-6pm, Free Admission)

The ASCE Dallas Branch will be participating in Earth Day Dallas on April 20-21 in Fair Park.  Partnering with The University of Texas at Dallas Department of Geoscience the “3D Dallas” project was born.  The project uses laser scanning to create a 3D model of a major infrastructure piece in Dallas.  The goal of the project is to raise public awareness for civil engineering and celebrate the Texas Section Centennial.  An online survey was hosted and several different pieces of major infrastructure were given to the public to vote on as the subject of the study.  The Margret Hunt Hill Bridge was selected, and the model will be on display at the ASCE booth at Fair Park for Earth Day Dallas.
