Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year Awards 2017

The Dallas Branch has ASCE has selected our Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year for 2017.  They will be recognized during E-Week, at the 2018 TSPE Engineers Week Annual Awards Luncheon on February 21, 2018

ASCE Dallas Branch Engineer of the Year

Victor M. Zepeda, PE

Arredondo, Zepeda & Brunz, LLC

Mr. Zepeda is the Sr. Project Director for Arredondo, Zepeda & Brunz, LLC (AZ&B), and serves in working directly with clients, assist with constructability reviews, quality checker, prepares contracts, mentors young professionals and works on select projects as a Project Manager. He provides technical support to four AZ&B offices with a staff of over 60 employees.

He recently completed the City of Dallas, Oak Cliff Streetcar extension project. He was responsible for managing and supervising a team of professionals including five supporting firms to develop the double track extension from the Beckley Stop to the Bishop Arts District via Beckley Ave. and Zang Blvd. Mr. Zepeda owned the majority shares of AZ&B from 2000 to 2010 and was directly responsible for the marketing, production, management, contracts, operations and served as the Chief Engineer of the 65 person firm, with offices in Dallas and Fort Worth, offering professional civil and surveying services throughout Texas.

He was the president of the Austin Branch of ASCE in 1986

Ashlyn Kelbly Morgan, PE

Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc.

Ms. Morgan has taken an active role in the design of water and wastewater utility projects. She serves as the engineer of record and/or provides technical support for projects including water and wastewater pipeline (new construction and rehabilitation), elevated storage tanks, ground storage tanks, pump stations, water and wastewater hydraulic modeling, and master planning. She manages young professionals on the water and wastewater utilities team. She was named Outstanding Analyst in Kimley-Horn’s Texas Region for 2013.

She has participated in multiple ASCE events over the last several years including:

  • Presenting at Career Day at Lida Hoe Elementary school
  • Presenting to the Woodrow Wilson Civil Engineering Club on both water resources and Habitat for Humanity
  • Coordinating several build days for the Civil Engineering Club and Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity
  • Coordinating and volunteered at E-Week at the Perot Museum
  • Presenting to the Engineering Club at Hockaday School
