Topic: Dallas Area Geotechnical Practice and Challenges - A Round Table Discussion

Speaker: Noel Janacek, P.E. & Ajay Poturi, P.E.

The Dallas Branch ASCE Geo Institute will host a round table discussion of local Geotechnical practice and challenges. Members from representative firms operating in the local area will provide their perspectives on topics such as geotechnical investigations, shallow foundations, expansive soils, deep foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and geotechnical engineering involvement during design and construction. The discussion will include time for audience questions and participation. The discussion and questions will be moderated by Noel Janacek, PE and Ajay Potturi, PE. Panel members will include representatives from Texas based firms, MWBE firms, and national/international based firms.



Topic: Designing High Performance Parking Structures

Speaker: Bill Doughty, P.E.

Bill Doughty

Bill Doughty, P.E., is Projects Manager at Coreslab Structures (TX) Inc. located in Cedar Park, TX.  He has 23 years of experience with design and detailing of precast concrete components and connections and has worked on a variety of commercial precast projects from architectural cladding to full precast mixed use structures during that time.  He has a B.S. in Mathematics from Texas State University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.  Mr. Doughty is a current member of ACI committee 550, Precast Concrete Structures.
