Update on the Dallas District TxDOT Projects

Duane Milligan, P.E. will be speaking on the current status/update of the Dallas District TxDOT projects, including the Dallas Horseshoe Project, TxDOT’s first design-build project. 


Duane Milligan, P.E. currently serves as the Director of Construction for the Texas Department of Transportation’s Dallas District.  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Univ. of Texas at Austin in 2000, going forward to earn his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Univ. of Houston.  Duane began his career with TxDOT in 2003 as an engineering assistant in the District’s Bridge Design section. He then moved to the SW Dallas County Area Office, working first in Design, then onto Construction.  His construction experience included managing the $216 Million SH161 Western Extension Project. Following that assignment, he moved to the District’s East Dallas Area Office where he managed multiple construction projects inclusive of the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park Project and the Woodall Rodgers Extension Project which incorporated the construction of the Margaret Hunt Hill Signature Bridge. In April, 2013, Duane began managing the Dallas Horseshoe Project, which was the first Design-Build Project to be undertaken by TxDOT under the Design-Build Authority as granted by the Texas Legislature in 2011.
