MORNING SESSION @ 11:00 AM

Topic: Thermal Integrity Profiling For Drilled Shaft Construction Verification

Speaker: Tim Abrams, P.E.,

Tim Abrams, P.E., a Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Terracon’s Dallas office, will present on a local application of Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP). TIP is a process that monitors the variation in temperature within a drilled shaft immediately after placing concrete and during the concrete hydration process. This method, standardized under ASTM D7949 - Standard Test Methods for Thermal Integrity Profiling of Concrete Deep Foundations, is an in-situ means of assessing shafts for deficiencies and defects.

AFTERNOON TECHNICAL SESSION @ 1:10 PM

Topic: Design Theory of Stress Ribbon Bridges

Speaker:  Shahab Ahmed, M. Sc., P.E.

John HoShahab Ahmed is a Structural Engineer with 10 years of experience in Canada and 16 years of experience prior to working in Canada.  Shahab has a strong background in the analysis and design of concrete and steel structures.
