“Wastewater Reuse: 30 Years of Indirect Potable Water Reuse in El Paso, Texas

The Fred Hervey Water Reclamation Plant is one of the pioneering facilities in indirect potable reuse. December 2015 marked 30 years of operation for this plant. The plant has a unique design that has been and continues to be a key component in the City of El Paso’s water resource management portfolio. The presentation will cover the design and operation of the plant, and its direct impact to the City of El Paso’s water conservation efforts.  


 

Mark O. Sanchez, P.E. is a Principal and Senior Project Manager for Parkhill, Smith, & Cooper Inc. and manages their El Paso office.  He markets and manages multi-disciplined projects related to water and wastewater services in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico and has over 20 years of experience. Mark is a 1992 graduate of New Mexico State University with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, is a registered professional engineer in Texas and New Mexico, and a member of Water Environment Federation and Council of Engineering Consultants.
