2016 MATHCOUNTS Competitions
MATHCOUNTS is a competition for middle school students to help promote science, technology and engineering fields. Please come and join the fun by volunteering!! We are in need of proctors, lunch crew, afternoon crew, and set-up. Duties for volunteers include grading tests (answer keys provided - no calculations required), proctoring testing rooms and assisting with set-up. This is a fun, easy and incredible opportunity to network with others involved in the Engineering community! When: Saturday, February 6, 2016 Where: Martha Proctor Mack Grand Ballroom, SMU 3300 Dyer St, Dallas, TX 75205 Directions: Contact: Cynthia Fields [email protected] Howard Gibbs [email protected] 2016 TSPE PRESTON TRAIL CHAPTER MATHCOUNTS COMPETITION We are excited that the 2015-2016 Preston Trail Chapter MATHCOUNTS season has begun! MATHCOUNTS is a coaching and competition program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). The program is designed to promote the discipline of math and engineering at the middle school level. Preston Trail Chapter is a local branch generally encompassing Collin County that is affiliated with the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) and NSPE. We intend to make this the most successful year ever for the Preston Trail MATHCOUNTS Competition, and to make this happen, we hope that we can count on you as a volunteer. This past February we had 37 schools register for the 2014-15 Chapter Competition, held at the University of Texas at Dallas. 286 students from around the area gathered in team and individual rounds, won door prizes, had pizza and snacks, and participated in the exciting Count Down Round! Coaches also won some great door prizes and four students achieved perfect scores! The Preston Trail Chapter advanced 6 teams and 6 individuals, while the Northeast Texas Chapter advanced 1 team and 2 individuals to the State Competition. We intend to have another great year and hope that we could provide some volunteers from AECOM this year.
