“Cotton Belt: Where are We?”

This month we will have Kevin Feldt, AICP who is the Program Manager for the North Central Texas Council of Governments.  He will be giving an overview of the Cotton Belt Corridor Project and its current status.


 

Kevin Feldt is a certified transportation planner with over 20 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors.  Kevin joined the North Texas Central Texas Council of Governments in October 2008 as a Program Manager and is responsible for oversight of passenger rail planning projects and freight planning activities.  Kevin leads a team currently charged with moving various transit corridor projects toward implementation, including High Speed Rail and the Innovative Finance Initiative for the Cotton Belt and Frisco Corridors.  The team also is implementing projects identified in the Freight North Texas regional inventory document. 

Kevin’s other professional experience in North Central Texas was with the North Texas Tollway Authority.  As the Director of Project Development and Planning at NTTA, Kevin was responsible for the team determining future toll road projects in North Central Texas. 

Kevin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.  Kevin has previously served as a City of McKinney Planning and Zoning Commissioner.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Bowling Green State University, Kevin received a Master of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from The Florida State University.  Kevin and his wife Cindy are the proud parents of three children – Nicole, Colin and Kyle.
