Kevin Shepherd, PE is a Principal and co-founder of VERDUNITY (vur-doo-ni-tee), a DFW-based firm specializing in the planning and design of fiscally and environmentally sustainable communities and infrastructure. Prior to starting VERDUNITY in 2011, he spent 16 years with HDR in a variety of roles, including manager of the Dallas Municipal Services group from 2002-2009, and National Director of the Community Planning & Urban Design market sector from 2009-2011. His current focus is on helping communities to assess the long-term costs of their infrastructure and development pattern, and identify implementation projects that increase value over time while reducing hard infrastructure costs and demand on natural resources.

Kevin has been involved with ISI and Envision since the pre-development stages, was one of the first professionals to earn the Envision Sustainability Professional certification, and is authorized to verify projects on ISI’s behalf. He serves as the Chair of ISI's Community Planning & Land Use Technical Committee, and assists with the Economics and Education Committees.

Kevin is a graduate of Texas A&M and lives in Rockwall with his wife, Natalie, and daughter, Sydney.
