President's Message - September 2015

Posted by admin on 09/02/2015 12:00 am  /   President's Message

Hello Dallas ASCE members! Hope you had an enjoyable summer. For some members, the season may have been the busiest time of year. I’m glad to live in the North Texas area where our industry is truly taking off and infrastructure is expanding throughout the Metroplex. Looking forward to hearing some of these projects highlighted at our luncheon and technical seminars!

As you may know, September marks the last month of the fiscal year for the Dallas Branch. We have been involved in many activities over the last year, and we are grateful for all the support from the membership. At the Branch September meeting, we will be ending the elections for the 2015-2016 slate of officers.

ELECTIONS
If you are a member and are included in the email database, you may have received an email for online voting for the ASCE officers. Members have the opportunity to vote online until Sunday, September 13th. If you have not voted online, you have the opportunity to vote by ballot on September 14th at the Branch meeting.

Technical Director Jonathan Brower, EIT

SEPTEMBER MEETING
We have a great program slated for you on September 14th. We have invited Mr. Michael Shultz of the National Weather Service to speak on the “May 2015 Flood on the Trinity River.” Our industry and our communities have been severely impacted by the abundant rainfall of the April and May. Our speaker will give us further insight on what this means for us in North Texas and other parts of the state. Please see the meeting announcement for more information.

A big thank you goes out to our meeting sponsor for September. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Angela Matthews, P.E.
