Posted by jen on 06/27/2013 12:00 am  /   Institute Seminar

The Dallas Branch is formalizing our technical groups by organizing them as chapters of national ASCE Institutes. We are pleased to announce the formation of the following five Dallas Branch Chapters:

  • Transportation & Development Institute (TDI)
  • Geo-Institute (GI)
  • Structural Engineering Institute. (SEI)
  • Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI)
  • Construction Institute (CI)

The first meeting of the newly formed Chapters are planned to be held in conjunction with the Texas Centennial meeting this September. Each Chapter will have a three person board to be elected at their respective inaugural meetings. To be eligible for election to the board of a Chapter, you must be an ASCE Dallas Branch member and an Institute member. Please contact Edward Penton, P.E. [email protected] if you wish to be considered for a position on the board.

Participation in the Chapter meetings is open to anyone, and if you wish to be included in email notifications from any of the five Chapters, the Dallas Branch Website now has a subscription group setup. To join the a group login to the Dallas Branch website and click on the Groups link. Select the “Join Group” link and you are done.

We believe that to be successful in your specialty area, you need access to the technical, educational, and professional issues moving that specialty forward. That is why every ASCE member includes a membership in one of ASCE's eight Institutes. If you'd like to add a secondary institute, you'll pay a small fee.
