President's Message - July 2014
I hope that everyone is enjoying the summer so far. I’m very excited about our upcoming meeting this month, as it is our annual Joint Meeting with the Fort Worth Branch. The Fort Worth Branch did a great job hosting last year and the Dallas Branch is excited to host this year. We have an extended program planned, which includes multiple technical sessions from 9am-noon, the one hour luncheon, and a one hour ethics seminar. For the luncheon, we are excited to hear from Perfecto Solis with DFW airport on all of the improvements that are underway at the airport. More information on the morning technical sessions are in this month’s newsletter. Please note that we will be meeting at the Hilton Arlington, located at 2401 E. Lamar Boulevard, Arlington, TX 76006. Also, please note that the price structure will be different for this meeting and you will have the option to register for the full length of the program or, if you do not wish to attend the program in its entirety, you can register for each event a la carte. We are looking forward to seeing you all there! For those who were unable to attend last month’s meeting, I wanted to mention that we will not be meeting at the Addison Marriott for our August meeting. Unfortunately, the hotel will be undergoing some renovations at that time, and they cannot accommodate our group. We are currently working on locating another hotel that can accommodate our group in August, so please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend. See you July 14, 2014 at the Hilton Arlington!
I mentioned at our of our meetings this year that the Dallas Branch is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. I am excited to be serving as the Branch President during this monumental year, and even more excited about the Board members who have stepped up to help plan something special to commemorate this occasion. While the details are not concrete enough to share at this time, I wanted to mention that we are looking to host an event sometime this Fall. More details will follow in the newsletter within the next couple of months.
Kristin Green, PE, ISI ENV-SP
President
