March Technical Seminar:

Pressure Cast Steel Pipe Design and Performance

Pressure Cast Steel Pipe utilizes a patent-pending manufacturing process that allows higher design stress levels in mortar- or concrete-lined steel cylinders while providing a pipe that is more rugged and less expensive to install when compared to ordinary steel pipe. This technical presentation will include basic manufacturing processes, design procedures, testing, and test results for this new pipe.

Technical Presenter: Richard I. Mueller, P.E.

Richard Mueller is the originator of the design concept for Pressure Cast Steel Pipe. He is President of Ameron International Corporation’s Water Transmission Group, and has 30 years experience in the design and manufacturing of concrete, steel, and fiberglass pipe for municipal applications.

Mr. Mueller has an MS in Engineering Management from SMU and a BSCE from Texas A&M University. He is a former President of the Dallas Branch of ASCE and was the “Engineer of the Year” for the Dallas Chapter of TSPE in 2000. Mr. Mueller is a licensed professional engineer in California, Texas, and Oklahoma.
