The Berkner High School STEM Program in Richardson Independent School District (RISD) is looking for engineers to volunteer to provide a 2-week shadowing opportunity for high school students.  The STEM students are looking to complete this 2-week, unpaid internship June 6-17. RISD's STEM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is a school within Berkner High School.  High school juniors in the academy are required to complete an internship as part of their graduation plan.  For two weeks they will job shadow and perform appropriate work tasks.  The purpose of the internship is to expose the students to necessary job skills, education, and the work environment in the industry.

For more information, please contact Daphne Johnson at [email protected] at your earliest convenience if you or someone in your office is interested in volunteering.  For additional information about the academy, check out the website: http://www.risd.org/schools/bhs/stem/index.htm.
