March Main Speaker - Julie Smith

As the Office of Environmental Stewardship Manager,Julie Smith oversees the City of McKinney's community-wide sustainability efforts.  She has more than 25 years of experience with various aspects of environmental policy including environmental litigation, protection, conservation, and teaching.  Julie’s hometown is Denton.  She has worked for several organizations throughout her career including the State of Texas General Land Office, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, the National Wildlife Federation, other cities, private firms, and the University of North Texas.  Julie earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Economic Philosophy from Ohio Wesleyan University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law.
