 Topic: Overview of the Complete Streets Initiative


As a Senior Associate for Kimley-Horn and Associates, Mr. Kurt Schulte, AICP has focused his career on serving clients in solving complex transportation and land use issues within a public process culminating into implementation strategies. Kurt is known for innovative visioning for communities that ultimately result in workable solutions to complex problems. From large scale city-wide mobility planning in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Tulsa to smaller corridor specific plans in Haltom City and Traverse City Michigan, Kurt has made it his passion to provide his clients with superior service. Kurt provides guidance and leadership within Kimley-Horn and is one of the firms strategic decision makers. As a senior project manager active in his practice, staying current and relevant in our industry is a top priority.



Mr. Peer Chacko, AICP is the Assistant Director responsible for the Strategic Planning Division of the Sustainable Development and Construction Department of the City of Dallas.  He is charged with integrating key land use and transportation planning projects within the context of forwardDallas! – Dallas’ award winning comprehensive plan.  This responsibility includes developing visions and strategies related to land use, economic development, urban design and transportation and implementing actions to bring about long term transformational change.  He has taken a leadership role on several notable City of Dallas projects including the development of the forwardDallas! comprehensive plan, establishment of form-based zoning, the 2011 Bike Plan update, modern streetcar planning and Dallas’ complete streets initiative.
 
Peer was awarded a 2008 McCloy Fellowship in Urban Affairs by the American National League of Cities and the American Council on Germany.  He has also been a speaker at a number of national and State level conferences including American Planning Association, Railvolution, APTA and Building Professionals Institute.
