G-I LiveStream: Energy Geotechnology

Join J. Carlos Santamarina for the second livestream lecture of the 2025-2026 Cross-USA Lecture Tour, presented by the Geo-Institute of ASCE.

 
Since 2010, Cross-USA Lecturers have traveled across the country sharing knowledge with local G-I Chapters and GSOs. Since 2020, the program has also included online livestream presentations on the G-I YouTube channel, allowing members nationwide to participate.
 
Dr. Santamarina’s first online lecture will focus on: Energy Geotechnology: The Evolving Role of Geotechnical Engineers in the Energy Transition
 
J. Carlos Santamarina is a professor at Georgia Tech and an internationally recognized leader in geotechnical engineering. He earned his civil engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and completed graduate studies at the University of Maryland and Purdue University. Throughout his career, he has taught at NYU-Polytechnic, the University of Waterloo, and Georgia Tech. His work includes more than 300 publications and two books, and his former students now serve as faculty members, researchers, and practicing engineers around the world. Dr. Santamarina has delivered keynote lectures internationally and received numerous honors, including the ASTM Hogentogler Award and the 50th Terzaghi Lecture.
