Proposed Changes Accepted Through March 31 After a valuable panel discussion held at CECON 2025, the Steering Council of the Residential Foundations Committee hereby announces that the period to submit proposed changes to the publications: “Recommended Practice for the Design of Residential Foundations” and “Guidelines for the Evaluation and Repair of Residential Foundations” will be extended to March 31, 2026. Those interested in submitting changes for consideration should submit them to ASCE Texas Section using the online form. Changes may also be submitted by email or mail, but must provide the information shown on the online form, which includes contact information, reason for change, applicable calculations, and alternative language, referencing the original document name and section number. Anonymous changes will not be considered. The Residential Foundations Committee and its subcommittees periodically consider proposed changes; if the Texas Section adopts the change(s), a revised document will be issued. Contact the Texas Section office if you have any questions. 3. 2026 ASCE Frontier Student Symposium Join ASCE Region 6 and ASCE Student Chapters from Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas for the Annual ASCE Frontier Student Symposium. This year, the event is hosted by the ASCE Student Chapter at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University Kingsville, with additional support provided by ASCE Region 6 and ASCE Texas Section. The ASCE Frontier Student Symposium (formerly Region 6 Student Symposium) is one of twenty-two ASCE regional student symposia held annually as an opportunity for ASCE student chapters in their respective regions to showcase their skills and achievements by designing, building, and/or competing in various civil engineering activities. The ASCE student symposia take place in the Spring and include Competitions, Professional and Personal Development Opportunities, Networking, and of course fun, as a celebration of Civil Engineering and the ASCE community. The ASCE Frontier Region includes 36 Universities from Oklahoma, Texas and Mexico. In 2025, the ASCE Frontier Student Symposium was hosted at Tarleton State University, with over 600 students attending!
