January 2026 President's Message
I hope all of you and your respective families had a great and safe holiday season, Here we are embarking together for the start of 2026, full of those popular “resolutions” and goals – which hopefully lead us to health and happiness for the year to come. For those who followed us via newsletter, social media, or in-person for December in particular; you will note that with the leadership of Quinn Spann – we partnered as an organization once again with ‘Christmas is for Caring’. The members of the ASCE Dallas Branch donated $2,075 toward the 47th year of this cause! There is a special thanks to Reed Engineering for their $2,000 corporate donation! To date our members have given $40,202 to the Denton State Supported Living Center (formally known as the Denton State School) since we started in 2003. We should feel proud about rising to that special season of giving, and keep up the momentum! I am also happy to announce that our Dallas Branch has been selected to receive a 2025 Outstanding Section and Branch Award Certificate of Commendation in the medium Section and Branch membership category. Join me in a special thank you to all our volunteers whose dedication continues to shine. We’re looking for volunteers to support a hands-on STEM activity on Tuesday January 27th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM. Your time can spark interest for future civil engineers as we engage with the students of St Philips School & Community Center. If interested please send a message to [email protected]. ASCE Dallas Younger Members volunteered last month at Owenwood Farms. They cleared out old garden beds, moved compost and mulch, prepped new plant areas, removed old plants, and helped to beautify and winterize the farm for the new planting season. Our Younger Members (psst… no real age restriction!) continues to engage as we will be teeing up for a great time at Top Golf in The Colony on Thursday January 22, 2026!
