Dear ASCE Dallas Branch Members and Friends,

I hope y’all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

As we recognize Hispanic Heritage Month this September, I’d like to take a moment to honor the contributions, culture, and legacy of our Hispanic American Civil Engineers. September is also National Suicide Prevention Month, an important time to raise awareness and remind ourselves that each of us can play a part in preventing suicide.

A big thank you goes out to our Younger Members for teaming up with the TSPE Dallas Chapter for a community clean-up at White Rock Lake last month.

For our subscribing members, please remember to cast your votes for the 2025–2026 Board Officer Elections. Voting links were emailed on Monday, August 18, 2025, and ballots will also be available in person at our monthly meeting on Monday, September 8, 2025.

We invite you to join us for the September 8th meeting, which will feature Dev Rastogi, Assistant City Manager for the City of Dallas, as our keynote speaker. She will present on the Bond Program and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. We will also begin the day with a technical session on the Mineral Wells Community Flood Assessment, presented by Matthew Whelan, PE, and Seongwon Hong, PE, from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers..

Mark your calendars! On Monday, October 20, 2025, we will host our Annual Awards and Officer Installation Meeting. We are honored to welcome Carol Haddock, ASCE National President-Elect, as our keynote speaker. Please note, there will be no morning technical session; instead, the time will be dedicated to celebrating our branch awards and conducting the officer installation ceremony.

If you’d like to get more involved with our Branch, please reach out—I’d be happy to connect you with one of our many volunteer opportunities, including open Committee Chair roles on our Board of Directors.

As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to support you and help our Branch continue to grow and succeed.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming meeting on September 8th!

Kind regards,
Fadi N. Faraj, P.E.
