Dear ASCE Dallas Branch Members and Friends,

Happy Professional Engineers Day!  I hope you had a chance to pause on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, to recognize the invaluable contributions of licensed Professional Engineers (PEs) to our society, particularly their vital role in protecting public safety and well-being.

Join us for the upcoming ASCE Dallas Branch meeting on Monday, August 11, 2025. This event will feature a keynote presentation titled “North Texas Transportation Plan for the 2026 World Cup” by Natalie Bettger, Senior Program Manager at the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).  We’ll also kick off the day with a technical session: “The New Toyota Stadium – Lessons in Computational Design”, presented by Clint Nash, PE, Ryan Ganey, PE, SE, and Sooik Cho from HKS.

Thank you to everyone who attended the July Joint ASCE Dallas/Fort Worth Branch Meeting, hosted by the Fort Worth Branch. Thank you to our sponsors and student attendees.  A special “thank you” to AmeriTex Pipe and Ron Reichert for generously covering attendance costs for several college students. We're also proud to announce that the Dallas Branch awarded approximately $40,000 in scholarships through the James W. Griffin Scholarship during the event.

Get involved for a great cause!  Our Younger Member Group is partnering with the TSPE Dallas Chapter for a community clean-up at White Rock Lake on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Check our social media channels for details—we’d love to see you there.

Did you know?  You can take up to four graduate-level Civil Engineering courses at UTA for professional development or continuing education—without formally enrolling in the graduate program. For more information, please contact Melanie Sattler, Ph.D., P.E., at [email protected].

Leadership opportunities available!  We’re still accepting nominations for Dallas Branch Committee Chair positions. If you’re interested in contributing to the leadership and growth of our branch, I encourage you to reach out. We welcome your voice and fresh ideas.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, don’t hesitate to connect with me. I’m here to support you and help our Branch continue to thrive.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our next meeting on August 11!

Warm regards,
Fadi N. Faraj, P.E.
