President's Message - April 2025

Dear ASCE Dallas Branch Members and Friends, 

I’m pleased to share that our branch is now accepting applications for the G.B. Mann and J.W. Griffin scholarships. Multiple awards will be granted, so if you know any eligible students, please encourage them to apply. More information is available on the ASCE Dallas Branch website.

Now registration is also open for our upcoming ASCE Dallas Branch / ASCE Fort Worth Branch Joint Golf Tournament on May 30, 2025 at the Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine.  

April is a month dedicated to raising awareness—not only for important social causes but also for the health of our planet. As we approach Earth Day on April 22, let’s reflect on the vital role we play as civil engineers in protecting our Earth and building a more sustainable world for generations to come.

Don’t miss our upcoming branch meeting on April 14, 2025. We’re excited to feature a keynote presentation, “Park with a Purpose,” by April Allen, President & CEO of the Southern Gateway Public Green Foundation.  Additionally, we’ll kick off the morning with an insightful technical session, “Pavement Management with Asphalt Overlays,” led by Abby Owens, Director of Public Works for the City of Plano.
