The Future City Competition-North Texas is a project-based learning program that has been inspiring students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics careers by challenging them to imagine, research, design and build a City of the Future, for over 20 years. Each January, middle school students compete at the regional level for an opportunity to advance and compete against teams from around the world at the National Competition in Washington D.C. This year’s theme is “Above the Current” and students will be designing a floating city and providing examples of the Engineering and Technology innovations that make it work during their presentations.
