President's Message - December 2024

  Dear ASCE Dallas Branch Members and Friends,

  I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  It's hard to believe that we are already
  approaching the end of the year.  The ASCE Dallas Branch has had an exciting year
  filled with numerous activities, and time flies fast when we are having fun!  I want to
  extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who have dedicated their time and
  efforts to the branch.  Working alongside each of you means a lot to me, and I truly
  treasure the relationships we've built.  I am looking forward to an even better 2025!

  Our upcoming meeting on December 9, 2024, sponsored by Garver, will feature John
  Hudspeth, P.E., Deputy District Engineer as our keynote speaker.  He will provide an
  update on the TxDOT Dallas District. Additionally, we will have a morning UESI
  technical session by Joseph Murphy, PE, from LTRA on the “ASCE 38-22 Standard
Guideline for Investigating and Documenting Existing Utilities”.  To celebrate the holiday season, we will also be hosting a dessert networking social immediately following the luncheon.

As we embrace the holiday spirit, it's a good time to remember those in need. I encourage you to consider supporting the “Christmas is for Caring” program, which was started by our Past-President Quinn Span in 2003 for the Denton State Supported Living Center. This facility serves 500 adults with physical, emotional, and mental disabilities, and the funds raised help bring holiday joy to its residents.
