Matthew Tilke- City of Plano- Senior Traffic Engineer

Topic: Plano's Traffic Management System and The New TMC

Matt Tilke is a Senior Traffic Engineer with the City of Plano.  His current role with the City includes management of the Traffic Management Section of the Transportation Engineering Division.  He supervises the City’s Traffic Management Center, with oversight of the City’s network of over 280 traffic signals, CCTV, and communications systems.  Matt has over 25 years of overall experience working in both public and private sectors, with experience ranging from traffic studies to roadway design, with numerous disciplines in between. He has worked in the cities of Dallas, McKinney, and Plano during his 12 years of municipal service.

Matt’s holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s certificate in local government management from the University of Texas at Dallas, and is a past-president of the TexITE Dallas Section.  In his personal life, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and visiting theme parks, preferably all at the same time.
