ASCE Texas Section Updates
1. Membership Renewals Thank you for your contributions to ASCE, the Texas Section, your local Branch, and the Civil Engineering community. Thanks to your loyal support, ASCE is able to advocate for improved infrastructure, boost STEM learning opportunities for K-12 students, develop and support young engineers, and provide resources to improve public health, safety, and welfare. In addition to those efforts, we have made it part of our mission at the Texas Section to deliver value to individual members. We know you each joined ASCE for a variety of reasons—career advancement, continuing education, leadership opportunities, a sense of family, or one of many others. No matter your motivation, we are confident that there is an ASCE resource, program, or opportunity that will help you achieve your goals. Section & Branch dues range from $71 to $75 and support more than just Texas Section's events. Beyond the satisfaction of knowing you're giving back and helping advance your profession right in your backyard, take a look at some of our most popular benefits listed below or head to www.TexASCE.org to check out the ever-growing list of member benefits offered by the Texas Section. · Hoping to meet new people, build your network, and create your own civil engineering family? Get involved with your local Branch and ask about their programs & opportunities, or volunteer within a Texas Section Committee or Technical Institute Chapter. · Looking for ways to advance in your career? Check out our annual Leadership Development Weekend and find interesting job openings on our Career Center job board. · Do you have a continual thirst for knowledge? You'll enjoy our annual Texas CECON, monthly webinars, monthly member newsletter, and the award-winning Texas Civil Engineer online magazine. 2. 2024 MRLC for Regions 3,6,7 The Texas Section invites you to join ASCE Leaders from Regions 3, 6, and 7 for the 2024 Multi Region Leadership Conference from Friday, January 12 to Saturday, January 13 in Kansas City, Missouri. The purpose of the Multi Region Leadership Conference is to provide a venue for upcoming leaders to gain knowledge of the Society and their Region, interact with students, younger members, section, branch, and institute leaders, while gaining personal leadership skills and learning the importance of networking. Register by December 15! 3. Share local Holiday Activities If your ASCE group hosts any fun holiday activities this month, please send a brief recap and a few photos to [email protected] so we can help spread the joy! You can also tag us on social when you post about your activities. Best, Mike Sosa Operations Specialist ASCE Texas Section (512) 472-8905 5511 Parkcrest Dr Ste 207, Austin, TX 78731
