President's Message - October 2023

Dear ASCE Dallas Branch Members,

It is hard to believe it is already October and my term as the ASCE Dallas President is coming to a close on October 16th. It has been a fun time and a privilege to be allowed to lead this great ASCE Branch this year and work with the board and committee leaders.   I have seen first hand and greatly appreciate the many hours of time that the board members and committee members have dedicated to fulfill their areas of responsibilities.   There are many roles that help make the Dallas Branch the Best Medium size branch in the country and they all contribute to offer our members (hopefully 😊) a positive experience broadening our understanding and connections in the civil engineering world.

I have been a member of ASCE since college and was previously President of the Southeast Texas Branch, President of Texas Section in 2008 and Region 6 Director from 2016-2019. I have benefitted greatly from the technical benefits of the diverse topics presented by ASCE but even more so from the life-long friends.   I have loved applying my civil engineering knowledge and experience throughout my life in various positions I have served. 

I look forward to working with Reece Taylor next year and believe the Dallas Branch is in good hands for the future.  I also look forward to joining the esteemed Past Presidents of the Dallas Branch club.
