Chad Ostrander - City of Plano

Topic: Comparing Experiences in the Public vs Private Sector

Chad Ostrander is a Senior Traffic Engineer with the City of Plano. He manages the Transportation Operations division within the city including engineering design and development review, traffic analysis, street lighting, construction project management, as well as many other day-to-day tasks that come up. Prior to joining City of Plano in 2022, Chad worked in the private sector with BGE, Inc. for seven years.

Chad is the Branch Director of the Dallas Branch of ASCE, he has also previously served as the Newsletter Editor, Fundraising Chair, and the Technical Editor for the 2020-2021 virtual meetings.

Chad received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
