Keynote Speaker - April 2023
Bridgefarmer & Associates, Inc and TxDOT Topic: IH30 Over Lake Ray Hubbard Shahriar Azad, P.E. is a Project manager based in Bridgefarmer’s Dallas office. He has been with the firm for 22 years. His experience includes planning and preparation of construction plans and specifications for large corriodors, interchange, water, street, utility and drainage improvement projects. Some of his successful managed projects include the award winning City of Irving Signature Bridge, the Irving Interchange in Irving Texas and the IH 630/IH 30 Big Rock Interchange in Little Rock, AR. Shahriar earned a Master of Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. He is a Professional Engineer in Texas and Arkansas. Christopher Myrick, P.E. is a Roadway Design Engineer based in Bridgefarmer’s Dallas office. He has 17 years of design experience and project coordination in multiple states and has been with the firm for 7 years. His experience includes the preparation of roadway, drainage, grading, and utility construction plans for residential subdivisions, commercial subdivisions, city streets, and highways in Arizona and Texas. Some of his design projects in Texas include the Irving Interchange, FM 897, and IH 30 from Bass pro Dr. to Ridge Rd. Christopher earned his BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona in 2005. . Eyosias Beneberu, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, has more than 14 years of experience and based in Bridgefarmer’s Dallas office. His industry experience encompasses structural design of high rise buildings and bridges as well as construction inspections of transportation infrastructure. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and a Fellow of the SEI. His academia experience ranges from teaching to researching various topics in structural engineering. His areas of expertise include repair and rehabilitation of structures, structural fire engineering, innovative construction materials and health monitoring of bridges. Dr. Beneberu is a member of ASCE-SEI Technical Activities Division for Bridge Management, Inspection and Rehabilitation Committee, ASCE Fire Protection Committee and reviewer for various ASCE, ELSEVIER and ACI journals. Jae Baag is currently the PS&E Section Supervisor of the Project Delivery Office at the TxDOT Dallas District. He oversees a group of 10 employees, who manage roughly $5B worth of projects in PS&E. He also manages projects himself, including the IH 30 project in Rockwall County, which let in 2021. He has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry and he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
