Hello ASCE Dallas Branch Members!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of springtime weather, and hopefully not being bothered by the allergies and occasional thunderstorms too much.    It’s hard to believe it is already April.  I hope everyone will review our program we have been working on for several months for April 10th .  We are trying a new way to highlight two institutes (EWRI and SEI) with three presentations each.  We will have a hot breakfast (sponsored by Rios Group) and then a luncheon presentation on IH 30 over Lake Ray Hubbard by Bridgefarmer and TxDOT.  You can register for either Lunch only or  Morning technical program and lunch.  Please let us know so we can estimate our food numbers correctly.

We are excited to announce that September 8, 2023 will be the date for the ASCE Dallas/Fort Worth Golf Tournament at the Texas Rangers Golf Club .  This fun event hosted with the Fort Worth Branch will benefit our G.B. Mann Scholarship Fund. Please SAVE THE DATE, and watch out for info in the coming months on how you can register your team or become a tournament sponsor.

May will be Younger Member Month within the Dallas Branch, and this means that our YM Committee will be taking over all aspects of the Branch activities next month. Our Branch Director, Chad Ostrander, will be writing next month’s President’s Message, running our Board Meeting, and giving the monthly announcements at our Branch meeting. Please be sure to encourage and support our YMs next month – I know they are going to do a great job!

Lastly, we would appreciate if you would please:

  • Verify that your ASCE membership is current. We appreciate everyone doing this.   😊
  • Consider hosting a meeting. Please contact me at [email protected] shown below and I will forward sponsorship information.
  • Let me know if you could make a presentation about a project / topic to one of the Civil engineering clubs at a local high school.
  • If you want to serve on a Dallas Branch ASCE committee or Institute, please contact me and / or the contact person listed.

Thank you to all of our members who attend our meetings (and especially those who invite friends to attend).  Thank you to all of the volunteers who make ASCE Dallas Branch relevant.  Thank You especially to the most technologically skillful volunteers who help us promote our meetings and keep them running virtually.     Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.  I am here to serve you as your Dallas Branch President and am here to help you however I can,  answer questions, facilitate connections, etc.
