Happy New Year Dallas Branch Members!

We have lots of exciting programs that are kicking off/ re-starting in 2023, and I am extremely proud of our Branch officers and committee chairs for coming up with creative ways to keep our Branch active and full of opportunities for our members.

The Younger Member Committee is re-starting “The Bridge” program this spring. “The Bridge” is intended to help Student Chapter members make the jump into the professional world and to help develop and retain our Younger Member membership base. I really appreciate Nalah Williams for volunteering to lead our Younger Member efforts that our other Younger Members started!

We are excited to be re-starting our activities with the DISD high schools and their STEM programs.  Thank you to Jonathan, Jerry, Julie, and Greg for working hard to continue representing ASCE in the classroom to teach students about civil engineering.

As we move forward into 2023, I would encourage you all to look for ways you can get more involved with the Branch in addition to attending our monthly meetings. Our leadership is hard at work setting up volunteer opportunities with the Future City Competition, (contact is Eric Webb) three Dallas Independent School District high schools, (contact is Jerry Jackson) and the Girl Scouts (contact is Julie Jones).

We are planning our annual golf tournament benefiting the G.B. Mann Scholarship fund, and we are looking for corporate Branch sponsors to help support the golf tournament and all of our programs. I can assure you that we will be faithful stewards of your time and money as you volunteer for and sponsor the Dallas Branch. Please let me know any thoughts / suggestions you have for the Dallas Branch ASCE.

Sincerely,

Nancy Cline, P.E.
