Keynote Speaker - November 2022
Marissa Sanchez- Assistant Director Department of Aviation at City of Dallas Topic: Dallas Love Filed Airport Update Marissa Sanchez currently serves as the City of Dallas Department of Aviation’s Assistant Director overseeing infrastructure and development at the award-winning medium hub-airport, Dallas Love Field. The premier general aviation site, Dallas Executive Airport, and the downtown Dallas Vertiport also fall under her purview, as well as maintenance for all airfields. As the Assistant Director, Ms. Sanchez leads the team charged with planning, design, construction, and major maintenance of all landside, airside and terminal projects. Current projects include the $129 million reconstruction of 13R-31L Runway, Entry Road Enhancements, and Crossfield Taxiways for Love Field, and the new multi-phased Taxiway E at Dallas Executive Airport. She also represents the Department of Aviation on the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Master Plan, assisting in planning a potential new Vertiport. Ms. Sanchez joined the City of Dallas in 2012 serving as manager of the Business Inclusion and Diversity program, then promoted to serve as the facilities manager for the Dallas Public Library System, before transferring to the Department of Aviation in 2017. Prior to working at the City, Ms. Sanchez served as project coordinator for the Small Business Transportation Resource Center for the US DOT as a grant to the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber. She also worked at one of the top M/WBE general construction firms in Dallas-- Phillips/May Corporation, for five years. Ms. Sanchez is a member of the City of Dallas 401K Board, serves on the North Texas Council of Governments Air Transportation Committee, is a member of the Airport Council International, serves as the vice-chair of the Dallas Independent School District Minority/Women Owned Business Enterprise Advisory Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association. Ms. Sanchez holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She is a fourth generation Dallas native and resides in Northeast Dallas with her husband and three beautiful daughters. She is a true-blue Dallas Cowboys fan and remembers the era of the triplets in the 90s with great enthusiasm!
