President's Message - December 2021

Hello ASCE Dallas Branch Members!

As this year draws to a close, I would like to thank our members for sticking with us as we transitioned to our hybrid meetings. This month we will have a networking dessert social after the luncheon in lieu of any tech sessions. Quinn Spann will be in the foyer collecting donations for residents of the Denton State Supported Living Center during the social. The Branch has raised over $27,000 through last year toward this worthy cause.

I am very excited about our events this coming year. We are to hosting the Dallas Ft Worth Branch Joint Meeting in person and are planning to host the Awards Banquet. Please watch for these announcements early next year.

There will be several opportunities to volunteer in coming year at many of our local schools. Most districts use Voly to screen and manage volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering this year, register with Voly.org to get started. You will then need to complete a registration questionnaire for the district. For example, Dallas ISD uses the following portal: DallasISD.voly.org

We are also looking for additional volunteers to help with our Website, The Bridge, and several Technical Institutes. Please contact me if you are interested in being part of our award-winning leadership team. As always, I will continue to work to ensure that our Branch fosters an inclusive and diverse environment for all our members to grow in the profession.
