Jennifer Vorster, P.E. – Collin County Area Engineer with TxDOT

Topic: TxDOT Collin County Projects Update

 

Jennifer Vorster is a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a degree in Civil Engineering. She began her career at TxDOT that same year as an engineering assistant at the Collin County Area Office. She spent 3 years doing various types of design projects including work on US 75, US 380, SH 5, FM 2786 and various other maintenance and rehabilitation projects, as well as working in construction on the widening of US 380 through Farmersville.

After receiving her Professional Engineering license, she became the Design Supervisor for the Collin County Area Office, and later served as a design supervisor at District Headquarters in Mesquite, where she supervised the design of several projects, including Loop 9 from IH 35 to IH 45, SH 205 in Collin County, and various routine and emergency maintenance and design contracts.

In September 2019, Jennifer became the Collin County Area Engineer, where she supervises approximately 100 employees in design, construction, maintenance, materials testing and record keeping. She and her team are responsible for the construction and maintenance of all state roadways within Collin County.

 

Jennifer lives and works in Collin County, with her husband Andrew and two daughters, Leah and Allie, aged 7 and 9.
