Back to In-Person Meetings Announcement

The ASCE Dallas Branch Board of Directors is excited to announce that an internal goal has been set to move the monthly Branch Meetings back to an in-person format beginning in August of 2021! There are still a lot of logistics for us to work out, but we are confident that we can lay out a course of action that will get us back to the in-person networking and fellowship will all crave and miss.

There are several factors that went into the Dallas Branch choosing August as the target month for the first Branch Meeting back in-person:

• As stated in the February President’s Message, ASCE HQ has recommended that in-person events be avoided, if possible, through at least the end of the month of June. We would like to continue to honor this recommendation from ASCE HQ.
• July is the DFW Joint Meeting with the ASCE Fort Worth Branch. The Fort Worth Branch is organizing the Joint Meeting this year and has made the choice to make it virtual for 2021.
• August will also allow more time for the general population to be vaccinated, thus increasing the comfort level of everyone attending our in-person Branch Meetings.

We are exploring options as well to hold a “hybrid” Branch Meeting where individuals may attend virtually or in-person. Please stay tuned for more updates on that!

For now, please save these dates for the upcoming in-person Branch Meetings:

• Monday, August 9^th
• Monday, September 13^th
• October: TBD
  • There are plans in the works to make the October Branch Meeting a special evening banquet event to honor our award winners from the past year, our Life Members, and to transition into our new 2021-2022 Board of Directors!
