Topic: Trinity Railway Express Crossing the Trinity River

Speaker: Fadi Raraj, P.E.

Mr. Faraj is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas with more than 20 years of experience.

He holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.  He has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing of infrastructure projects.  Most of his experience is in Texas, providing him a vast knowledge of Texas subsurface stratigraphy and local design and construction practices.

His technical skills are complemented with his managerial and leadership skills.  He is a graduate of both the Management and Leadership programs of the Institute for Generative Leadership.  In 2016, he became the Vice President of Operations for the first HVJ Associates® franchise in North Texas.

He has been a member of ASCE since 2002, and he started his journey by serving as the chair with the Houston Branch on the “Hospitality” and “Primary and Secondary Education” committees.  He also served as the chair with the Texas Section for the Intra-Relations Committee.  Currently, he serves as the Geo-Institute Chair for ASCE Texas Section.

Some of his volunteer work with ASCE includes presenting to high school students about being a civil engineer, engaging kids in engineering activities at the Children Museum with the Austin Branch and the Perot Museum with the Dallas Branch, helping with supplies at the Food Bank, judging projects at Future City Competitions, and maintaining clean highways through TxDOT’s “Adopt a Highway” program.

Mr. Faraj has been a Texas resident for the last 20 years.  He lives in Frisco and he is married to Lina Abi Mosleh, who is a molecular genetics scientist.  They have 3 beautiful daughters, and he wishes at least one of them will become a Civil Engineer!

He enjoys building things, golfing, having family movie nights, and going to Disneyland when COVID is not around!
