ASCE Dallas Young Member Initiative: The Bridge

ASCE Dallas is excited to announce its new Younger Member initiative: “The Bridge”

This new program will be focused on building a better ASCE for our younger members, especially our Student Members. In recent years, we have seen a decline in Student Chapter engagement. This has unfortunately resulted in fewer Student Members taking the next step towards Professional Membership post-graduation. Luckily, this is an engineering organization, and if there’s anything we know how to do, it’s creating strong, reliable, and well paved paths to success.

“The Bridge” Program will be a well-coordinated effort towards Student Chapter engagement including, but not limited to:

  • Speaker series
  • Celebration events
  • Speaker Panels
  • Technical/Career Workshops

Each of these monthly events will be specifically geared towards the needs and wants of Student Members and Young Members alike. The sessions will include multiple topics such as: What are employers REALLY looking for in employees/interns. Tips and tricks into the programs that companies are using for design. Hearing stories from Young Members and how they’ve built the foundations for their careers in civil engineering. All the things our rising stars need to know.

We are very excited about this program! Announcements will be posted in the near future for the first of these sessions, so STAY TUNED. We will be doing our best to have updates across Newsletters, Meeting Announcements, YM Emails, etc.
