President's Message - July 2020

Dear Dallas Branch Membership:

I hope you and your family had a safe and fun 4^th of July, although it was celebrated different than most years.  I am very thankful to live in the country that we do, and have the freedoms that we have. 

The annual ASCE DFW Joint Meeting is just around the corner, and it will be held virtually this year.  The live premier will be on Friday, July 17^th.  I will miss the networking that normally happens at the joint meeting and seeing all of the people in the Ft. Worth Branch, but I want everyone to stay safe and healthy.  We have some great sessions that will be on-demand to watch, so if you want to watch all of them or just one of them you can.  The main sessions will be focused on the planning, design, and construction of Globe Life Field, the new Texas Rangers Stadium.  The registration fee will get you the pdh certificate, and all of the money will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank.  We know at this time a lot of people are relying on the food bank and we wanted to make a difference with the joint meeting this year. 

If you want to do more than just attend the meetings, or have ideas on how we can better our Branch then we would love to have you help us plan what we can accomplish as a Branch by joining our team.  The nominations are out for all of the board and committee positions for next year.  See the website for the application.
