Hi: I’m Mark Boyd. Warm greetings to all of my Dallas Branch friends who know me as the current Dallas Board Past President.  I’m wearing another ASCE hat these days as the Chair of the Texas Infrastructure Report Card committee.  The report card is on schedule to roll out in early 2021. Our subject subcommittees are hard at work evaluating the condition of Texas infrastructure in 11 categories.  I invite you to help us plan, coordinate and prepare the Report Card with narrative to support the assigned grade.  Join our committee as a technical reviewer and subject matter expert or as a project leader, helping to compile and evaluate information from across the state. Committee work is underway but we are still seeking a few volunteers to support the following subcommittees:  Energy, Bridges, Solid Waste, Parks & Recreation, Roads & Highways, and Levees.

We’ll start you off with some preliminary orientation from ASCE National and the Texas Section to get you prepared to hit the ground running with one of our active subcommittees  If you have any questions or want to jump right in with us in this important effort with an interesting and fun group of technical experts, please contact me at [email protected] (Mobile: 214.770.6253) and/or Lindsay O’Leary Texas Section Executive Director at [email protected]

The last Texas report card was in 2017.  It will be 4 more years until the next chance to volunteer rolls around.    Take advantage of this special opportunity to serve your State and ASCE!    I look forward to hearing from you soon

Stay safe everyone!

Mark K. Boyd, PhD, PE, DWRE, M. ASCE

Chair, 2021 Texas ASCE Infrastructure Report Card Committee
