Engineers Without Borders Meeting

MEETING REMINDER:  EWB-USA NORTH TEXAS PROFESSIONALCHAPTER

TOPIC:   Mr. Colin Blankenship, P.E., CFM, RAS, will be speaking about the“Green House” building project, schedule to kickoff this coming fall.  As part of the Texas Section Centennial Celebration, Texas Section ASCE is collaborating with the Dallas Area Habitat For Humanities to make this project possible.  Engineers and volunteers from around the DFW area will be designing and constructing a “truly” green house.  Come and learn how you can volunteer and learn to implement different “green” technologies, such as solar panels for electrical generation, rain harvesting techniques for irrigation, the use of LED lights, just to name a few.

Mr. Colin Blankenship specializes in roadway and drainage design for various public entities around the DFW metroplex.  He is an Associate Engineer at Hayden Consultants, Inc. and has been a member of the staff since 2003.  Colin is active in the American Society of Civil Engineers where he serves as the Centennial Celebration Champion and as a member of the Scholarship Committee.  He is also a member of the North Texas Chapter of Engineers without Borders and serves as the Engineers without Borders liaison for the Dallas Branch of ASCE.  Colin was named the 2012 ASCE Dallas Branch Young Engineer of the Year.  Colin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2003.  While attending college he worked as a summer intern with the Texas Department of Transportation,Bryan District.
