Dear Dallas Branch Membership:

I hope you and your family have a safe and fun 4th of July.  I am very thankful to live in the country that we do and have the freedoms that we have.

I know many of you by now know of the passing of our Branch President Anthony Luce.  We will miss him greatly in the Branch and I know BGE will as well.  I will serve the remainder of Anthony’s term as Interim President and then followed with my appointed term.  I don’t know if I can fill his shoes, but I will try to fulfil his term the way he would want it to be finished.

The annual ASCE DFW Joint Meeting is just around the corner, it is on a different day and location that it has been previously.  It will be at UT Arlington Campus on Friday, July 19th.  This meeting gives our Branch members the opportunity to meet and network with engineers from all corners of the DFW metroplex. Additionally, you have the opportunity to earn up to 5 PDHs, including one hour of ethics. Technical sessions run from 9:00 to 11:50, the networking luncheon begins at noon, and ethics will be immediately following lunch. More details will be sent out when we receive them.  Registration is open, so secure your spot today.  Thanks to all the members of the Fort Worth Branch for hosting this year.

Please see other announcements and postings if you’d like detailed information on any of the upcoming events.  If you want to do more than just attend the meetings, or have ideas on how we can better our Branch then we would love to have you help us plan what we can accomplish as a Branch by joining our team.  The nominations are out for all of the board and committee positions for next year.  See the website for the application.

See you all in Arlington at our next meeting on Friday July 19th!

Yours in service,

Julie A. Jones, PE, CFM

Interim President
ASCE Dallas Branch, 2019
