On Thursday, November 1, ASCE Dallas and the ASCE SMU student chapter co-hosted the ASCE SMU Mentorship Program Kick-off event on the SMU campus. Four ASCE professionals (3 of which are SMU alum!) and over 15 students attended the event. The professionals and students networked with each other about work-life and student-life and what the transition between the two is like. In addition to the four ASCE professionals in attendance, we have a list of nine individuals interested in being a mentor. From SMU, we have eleven students who want to participate in the mentorship program and have listed their first, second, and third choices of industry they would like to be paired with. The mentorship program will begin in January, after the students have returned from their winter breaks.
