ASCE Texas Section Infrastructure Report Card Event & Day at the Capitol

Texas Section Leadership has been working to coordinate the Infrastructure Report Card (IRC) media event at the state capitol in conjunction with the ExCom meeting in January.  We have now secured the Speaker’s Committee Room for Monday, January 14, at 4:00 PM. In order to maximize participation in the IRC event and not increase travel, President Furlong has called for the Executive Committee to meet the morning of the 14th – Monday – from 8:30 to 1:00 PM.  Lunch will be available at 1:00 to IRC participants who pre-register followed by an IRC review and “training”.  It is possible that legislative visits might also take place from 2:00 to 3:30.  At 3:30 all IRC participants will head to the capitol for the media event and a reception at a nearby watering hole is being planned to cap off the event at 5:30.
 
To have the most impact it is important to have as many civil engineers and ASCE Texas Section members participate in the IRC event as possible.  We are hopeful that you will be able to put this important activity on your schedule.  More details will be available after the first of the year.
